For several years now I have been working with the material porcelain. The many facets of porcelain immediately excited me. The most important and certainly the most extensive project I was allowed to work on this year is the production of life-size porcelain bodies.
This is a very personal work, as I begin by molding parts of my own body and then increasingly deform, alienate, and reassemble the many body parts to ultimately create a new abstract being. In this work, I take on the role of both creator and guinea pig.
I am fascinated by the many possibilities of thinking differently about the human body. Entirely new, surreal, monstrous compositions emerge.
